At the beginning of the relationship with a narcissist, your love-struck eyes can’t see the dangerous con artist lurking right in front of you. You can only see the amazing, thoughtful, kind, attentive, and loving person they are presenting to you. You have no idea that they are merely mirroring back to you everything you wanted.

Abusive individuals, especially narcissists, do not wear T-shirts that say “I am a Narcissist!” It sure would make their future victims' lives so much easier if they did, but narcissists are experts at denying reality.

They know how to hone in on your weaknesses and they use your hopes and your dreams to coerce you into a relationship. Before you know it, after a very brief timeframe, you are swept up into a whirlwind of chaos and confusion.
