I could never stare into my abusers eyes. I never understood why but it was terrifying!

On one hand, I walked away thinking that that was an intimate moment but it didn’t feel right. Such a gaze was consuming, so naked, so raw. I couldn’t tell what went into that gaze, but I knew he felt it and it was a moment of terrifying connection.
