Discarding a narcissist is a very difficult thing to do. They have no doubt consumed a huge part of your life. To suddenly go no contact after seeing the mask slip or building up the courage to do so is no easy feat, but an integral part of your recovery.

To discard a narcissist is to awaken within them their deepest fear.

Rejection!

You were their drug and they ravenously fed off your energy because you were so delicious and potent. They siphoned off your vitality leaving you exhausted and depleted. This is why you have blocked them, moved away, or completely cut them off.

Narcissists and sociopaths crave control and power in relationships. Going no contact is a huge “NO!” to a narcissist. Not having their possession to feed off will send a narcissist into a spiral of madness.

While you’re busy focusing on your recovery they are preoccupied with getting you back so they can satisfy their thirst for revenge. You dared to defy them and they will never let you escape punishment. You are now their obsession. They will only talk about you to all their friends and family. Even if there is a new victim you are all they eat and breathe. You are the enemy, and in a perverted way, it makes you extremely attractive to them.
