Twin Flame or Narcissistic Abuse?
Over the last several years, the idea of twin flames has become very popular in the New Age community. It is a very intoxicating concept that has taken the internet by storm. It draws mostly women, a few men, wanting a “special” love story.
One of the teachings is that a unique number of humans, the 144,000 as mentioned in the book of Revelations, are the true twin flames. They are one soul that has split into two beings, each incarnating into a separate physical body. These separated humans spend an eternity looking for their other half.
Many feel twin flame love is a divine connection and it has a divine purpose, which is usually above your comprehension. Others feel this is just a toxic relationship; that the twin flame concept is a glamorization of narcissistic abuse, projecting illusions, rooted deep in our unconscious mind.
Interestingly, conflict is a primary feature of the entire experience.
A core component of the twin flame relationship is the idea of runners and chasers. One person is thought to be the Divine Masculine (runner) and the other the Divine Feminine (chaser).
