Narcissists are not like normal people. Healthy individuals know how to reenergize themselves with positive things such as love and friendship. Narcissists fuel themselves with conflicts, arguments, and pain.

Deep down, narcissists are not satisfied with themselves at all. At some time in their life, the narcissist was shamed or disgraced in such a way that they were never fully able to feel good about who they are.

Underneath all of the bravado and the larger-than-life persona, they really are just wounded little children that constantly need the adoration of those around them. They need praise from others just to give themselves the energy to get up in the morning and face the day.

The narcissists’ world is rootless. It is only a real place in their distorted mind, and they need it for their very survival. At all costs, they are driven to keep up this faux image they have constructed of themself because, without it, they feel that they are just a loser and a failure.
