What The Narcissist Doesn’t Know About Confidence.

Narcissists do not have confidence. They only act like they do. Their exaggerated assertions of confidence are merely a disguise used to cloak the internal shame that truly festers inside of them.

It can sometimes appear to others that the narcissist is extremely self-assured, when in fact, it’s simply arrogance. They are quick to falsely and maliciously criticize others to create an illusion that they know what they are talking about. Often their arrogance is mistaken for confidence the first time you encounter them but over time the cracks in their false facade will begin to surface.

What the narcissist calls confidence is really arrogance and narrow-mindedness.

A healthy, confident individual does not generally think of themselves. Normal self-confidence allows an individual to be emotionally steady. A person who is confident will often consider the needs of others over the needs of themselves.

Narcissists, on the other hand, have an inability to see beyond themselves. They are incapable of admitting faults and will declare themselves correct and all-knowing in everything. They believe that their stubborn unyielding nature makes them confident and self-assured, yet it proves the exact opposite.
