Why Did He Abuse Me More than the Others?

What is trauma to me may not be trauma to you. Every human has their own lens through which they see the world. Those lenses are created out of that person's individual life experiences. Even when there are several victims of the same calamity, each person has their own separate emotions and feeling about that experience.

Dr. Seuss comes to mind as I write this. “There is no one alive that is youer than you.” This is absolutely true. You are a special conglomeration of cells and DNA from your mother and your father which can never be replicated.

Comparing yourself to another human being is really a waste of your precious time and energy. It’s actually quite detrimental to your mental well-being.

But I still do it..

Every woman in my abuser's life has been damaged by him in some way. Sociopaths do not bring happiness and meaning into anyone's existence. They only bring agony and pain to their victims. There really is no value to their existence in our lives or in society in general. I do not apologize for this view.

When I hear about all the pain my abuser has caused others it breaks my heart. How could someone be so awful and rotten to the core? How could someone so callously destroy so many people's lives and feel zero remorse? How could they then have the gall to claim…
