Why the Narcissist Uses Sleep Deprivation to Abuse You

Governments and law enforcement have routinely employed sleep deprivation on suspected criminals to elicit a confession. The CIA prefers to call this tool “enhanced interrogation” but I believe the decerning person understands that this is a cover word for torture.
According to Humans Rights First, a nonpartisan, international human rights organization based in New York and Washington, DC:
The CIA authorized sleep deprivation “for up to 180 hours.” In January 2003, the Office of the Director of Central Intelligence produced interrogation guidelines, which classified sleep deprivation for more than 72 hours as an “enhanced” interrogation technique while sleep deprivation for less than 72 hours was considered a “standard” technique. On January 10, 2004, following a November 2003 email entitled “Al-Hawsawi Incident” from CIA General Counsel Scott Muller suggesting reducing the threshold to 48 hours, “CIA headquarters informed CIA detention sites…that sleep deprivation over 48 hours would now be considered an ‘enhanced’ interrogation technique.”
Not only does the CIA use sleep torture, law enforcement agencies across the country use this tactic as well but only on suspects and witnesses.
The International Association of Chiefs of Police recommends that “police officers get at least 48 hours to rest up before they are interviewed about an incident in which they were involved.”
But according to the Chicago Sun Times:
This standard does not apply to criminal suspects and witnesses, who often are interrogated for many hours while in a state of extreme sleep deprivation.
So what does this have to do with narcissists?
Sleep deprivation is ultimately about power and control. These government agencies clearly use it to force witnesses and suspects to tell them what they want to hear. Many false confessions have been exposed as a result of this torture tactic.
Narcissists need to feel absolute control in a relationship. They deprive you of sleep to keep you exhausted and to keep both your mind and body in a state of chaos. Similar to the interrogation tactic of a law enforcement agent, determined to get a confession, the narcissist does not…
