Why Toxic People Never Apologize

Even the most conscientious person can sometimes fail at an apology or feel they don’t have to apologize. We are all human. It happens.

Whether you are dealing with a narcissist or not, taking responsibility for wrongdoing is hard. You may have made a mistake, didn’t have the appropriate skills, or were irritated and behaved in a way to show how upset you were.

Apologizing takes a certain level of vulnerability and it can be rough for anyone to be able to acknowledge what they did and then admit fault.

So what about the people who can never admit they were wrong, no matter the circumstance?

What makes them incapable of apologizing even when they’re obviously in the wrong?

Fragile Ego

People who cannot apologize often have such deep feelings of low self-worth that their fragile egos cannot allow them to admit they were wrong. So their defense mechanisms kick in.
